Steel product conveyor to transfer frozen product from a liquid nitrogen bath

Extreme cold was a major issue to consider when designing this conveyor to transfer the product out of a liquid stream / bath of liquid nitrogen.

Expansion and contraction was to be considered as well as what bearing type and material could be used at this temperature.

Additionally to this the conveyor need to be easily removable for cleaning at the end of each shift which included a simple but effective quick release coupling between the gear motor and the drive shaft.

The product was required to be maintained in the centre of the conveyor as wastage was also a high consideration due to the cost of the product.

Additionally an insulated cover / shroud was required to shield the product as much as possible from the ambient temperature in the production room as well as exhaust the excess nitrogen gas that resulted in the conveyor transferring the product, away from the operator.
