Stainless Tank & Mix is a family-owned stainless steel tank and equipment manufacturer in Minto, Sydney. We’ve built tanks, mixers and process equipment for Australian manufacturers since 1974.
We design, engineer, and manufacture precision stainless-steel equipment and process systems that drive performance, safety and reliability across Australia’s most demanding industries. With over 50 years of experience, we combine deep technical expertise with modern design capability to deliver end-to-end solutions – from concept and 3D modelling through to fabrication, installation and commissioning.
Our customers run food, dairy, pharmaceutical, chemical and water plants across the country. Everything we make for them starts as raw sheet in our own workshop.
Most of them know the result they need. Fewer know the equipment that will get them there. So we start with questions: the product, the batch, the room it has to fit in. Then we design it, build it, install it and stand behind it.

What sizes of stainless steel tanks do you make?
From 2 litres to 600,000 litres and beyond. Tanks up to about 3.5 metres in diameter go by road without an escort. Anything too big to transport, we build on site: our largest so far is 600,000 litres and 10.5 metres across.
Which grade of stainless steel does my tank need?
That depends on the product, your cleaning chemicals and how much chloride is in the water. We build in 304, 316 and 316L, and in SAF 2205 and 2507 duplex for hot water and high-chloride work. Our guides to sizing a mixing tank and silo design go into more detail.
Do you test tanks before they leave the workshop?
When the job calls for it, yes. We pressure-test tanks with water and dye-test the welds before they leave Minto. Every job is fully traceable, and AS 1210 pressure vessels are designed and built in-house.
Can you design the tank if we only know the result we need?
Yes, and it’s the work we like best. Tell us the product, the batch size and the space you have. We’ll work out the vessel, the mixer and the fittings, model it in 3D and talk it through with you before any steel is cut.
Do you deliver and install outside Sydney?
Yes, anywhere in Australia. Our own team delivers, installs and commissions what we build, and we relocate existing tanks between sites too.
Do you repair or modify existing tanks?
Yes. We fix dented and vacuum-damaged tanks and silos, replace damaged sections and modify tanks for a new process. See tank repairs.
How much does a custom stainless steel tank cost?
The price depends on the size, the grade, the finish, the mixer and the documentation the job needs. Send us those details and we’ll quote. Our quotes typically come back faster than competitors’.
